Noklak, July 24 (MExN): The Noklak district administration has ordered strict enforcement of noise pollution regulations, prescribing fines of up to Rs 1 lakh, seizure of equipment and sealing of premises for violations. The use of loudspeakers between 10 pm and 6 am, including in notified silence zones, is prohibited. The order also mandates that diesel generator (DG) sets comply with the prescribed standards under the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000. Sound-emitting construction equipment will not be allowed to operate between 10 pm and 6 am in residential areas and silence zones. The order also prohibits bursting of firecrackers in silence zones and between 10 pm and 6 am.
