In a statement, the NPCC's Communication Department said the floods had severely affected Tizit Town, Tizit Village and Lapalampong Village. According to the party, nearly 800 households in Tizit Town alone have been affected, with homes, schools, hostels, shops, tea gardens, cultivated land and livestock either washed away or extensively damaged, triggering a humanitarian crisis. The Congress alleged that despite the scale of the disaster, the affected people have not received adequate relief or assistance. The NPCC urged the Nagaland government, the State Disaster Management Authority and all concerned agencies to undertake comprehensive relief and rehabilitation measures without delay. It also appealed to the Centre to extend all possible assistance to help affected families rebuild their lives.
