NFR expands freight facilities, posts strong cargo revenue

Maligaon, July 24 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced a series of customer-centric initiatives to strengthen freight services, improve cargo movement and enhance freight revenue across its network.
Alipurduar Division loaded six rakes comprising 252 wagons of maize, generating freight revenue of Rs 4.22 crore, while Katihar Division loaded 39 rakes of maize, earning Rs 23.53 crore.
Lumding Division booked 1,712 wagons of stone chips, generating Rs 6.97 crore in freight revenue.
It also loaded 2,420 wagons of cement, earning Rs 9.89 crore, and 444 wagons of petroleum, oil and lubricants (POL), which generated Rs 4.08 crore.
The railway said the initiatives are aimed at improving customer experience by expanding freight facilities, strengthening logistics infrastructure and ensuring efficient cargo movement.
