Chümoukedima, July 24 (MExN): The Chakhroma Students’ Union (CSU) has cautioned the contractors and executing agencies involved in railway construction works within its jurisdiction, directing them to immediately stop the indiscriminate disposal of construction debris, chemical waste and hazardous materials into streams, water bodies and public areas.
The union has directed all contractors to strictly comply with all environmental laws, safety protocols, and waste management directives issued by competent authorities.
“Under no circumstances should construction debris, chemical waste, oil, fuel residues or any other toxic or hazardous materials be discharged into streams or disposed of indiscriminately,” the CSU stated.
“Development must be executed with strict adherence to environmental laws, safety standards and waste management regulations, ensuring that the environment and the interests of local communities are fully protected,” it added.
The union further cautioned that any continued violation or negligence will be viewed seriously.
