What Has KCMO Central City Economic Development TAX Achieved?!?
[]
Tony's Kansas City
"Kansas City voters will decide Aug. 4 whether to keep paying a sales tax that funds economic development within Kansas City’s urban core.
"The renewal question for the Central City Economic Development (CCED) sales tax appears on the ballot as Kansas City Question 3.
"Kansas City shoppers have paid the CCED sales tax — one-eighth-cent for every dollar spent — since voters first approved it in April 2017.
"The tax is collected on all purchases subject to a sales tax citywide.
The tax money is put into a dedicated fund that can only be spent on economic development inside a roughly nine-square-mile area.
