During Thursday's waiver hearing, the judge initially said it would be in the teen's best interest to remain in juvenile court. However, the judge continued the ruling moments later, finding that the public's interest outweighed the juvenile's and ordering the case transferred to adult court. Last week, a judge denied a waiver request for another teen charged in the case, meaning that defendant will remain in juvenile court. A third teen charged in connection with Krause's death is scheduled for a waiver hearing on Aug. 12.
