While the circular dealmaking has made some AI industry watchers cautious, AMD (AMD) chair and CEO Lisa Su explained that the tech companies' close proximity to one another makes a lot of sense. "The AI world is such that you need every part of the ecosystem to come together, Su added. AMD announced a big tie-up with Anthropic (ANTH.PVT) this week that significantly expands its push to challenge rival Nvidia in the AI infrastructure market. The two companies will work together to optimize Anthropic's Claude AI models for AMD hardware and accelerate development of AMD's ROCm software platform. AMD also inked a deal with OpenAI in October 2025 for 6 gigawatts of GPUs.
