FARGO, N.D. – The CEO of the Red River Valley Fair says a project that was once a $1.3 million project is now a $2.2 million project. The project, which is the Dakota Magic Stage at the Red River Valley Fairgrounds, increased in price due to factors such as steel price increases, construction delays, and higher electrical expenses. Cashman is appealing to add additional funding to his next budget from Cass County Commissioners. “One of our big reasonings for the funding request we have is for the stage, the shortcomings we’ve had financing that stage,” he said. Cashman says the fair is aiming to raise around $300,000 through additional fundraising and grants while requesting county assistance for the remainder.
