Fifteen of the 39 permanent posts in the National Testing Agency are vacant , the Union government told Parliament on Wednesday.
Seventy-three persons, including 44 consultants, have been engaged on contract, the education ministry told the Rajya Sabha.
The data was provided in response to a question by an Opposition MP amid criticism of the government and the National Testing Agency over the alleged irregularities in the conduct of competitive exams.
Youth protesters in Delhi and several cities have been demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the matter.
In the financial year 2023-’24, the National Testing Agency had an income of Rs 1,116 crore and an expenditure of Rs 1,040 crore, the education ministry said.
