NORTH AUGUSTA – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans Association presented a gift of a disability van to Dave and Judy Hardy, of Brockville, during a brief but heartfelt handover ceremony Wednesday afternoon. The initiative was led by Craig MacLaughlan, president of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Veterans Association Kingston/Brockville Division, and his wife Dorothea. Dave Hardy is an ex RCMP officer and a member of the association, qualifying the Hardys for assistance from the RCMP Benefit Trust Fund. Formalities for the life-changing gift took place in front of a pond on the property owned by MacLaughlan’s brother and sister-in-law on County Road 15. In the last few years, Judy Hardy had been suffering a variety of symptoms and finally a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) was reached.
