The following post was sent by Ansonia Fire Department Chief Jay Fainer:Good Evening,The Ansonia Fire Department recently responded to a call on Main Street for smoke in a building. The first-arriving fire engine attempted to access the closest hydrant, located directly in front of the Post Office. Unfortunately, that hydrant was blocked by a customer who had “just run into” the building. However, when lives are on the line and seconds truly count, a parked car in front of a hydrant can create a serious and dangerous delay. Respectfully,Jay FainerChief, Ansonia Fire Department
