A new survey found that spouses often encourage each other to visit the doctor and make healthier choices.
According to the survey, 63% of married New Yorkers have visited a doctor, dentist, therapist, or other health professionals because their spouse encouraged them to go.
Marriage Can Offer Emotional SupportThe survey found that 37% of married New Yorkers feel more emotionally supported because of their marriage.
23% of New Yorkers said marriage has encouraged them to take preventive healthcare more seriously.
More than half of married New Yorkers, 56%, said marriage has reduced the time they have for their own health.
