Page views for UK regional news websites were down by more than a third last month as the fallout from Google’s algorithm changes continued to bite. According to the latest IPSOS traffic figures, there were 528.7m page views for regional news websites during June compared to 799.4m in the same month in 2025 – a fall of 33.86pc. The drop in page views is widely attributed to changes in Google’s search algorithms during 2025 which penalised sites which had previously done well on Google Discover searches. Despite the fall in traffic, the MEN regained top spot in the rankings for both page views and unique users, with sister title Wales Online moving into second place on both measures. The tables below include all websites with more than 500,000 monthly unique users, more than 2m page views, and more than 2.5 average minutes for user.
