Visa (NYSE: V) and Airwallex have announced a partnership to create specialized embedded-finance tools for freight and shipping platforms. The collaboration focuses on modernizing payments, enhancing working capital access, and streamlining cross-border transactions for logistics businesses. Together, the companies seek to resolve persistent issues in the freight sector, including prolonged settlement times, limited working capital, foreign-exchange complications, and operational inefficiencies. As a result, customers can better control expenses, secure working capital as needed, and transfer funds more easily across borders and currencies. While freight platforms, digital forwarders, and logistics marketplaces have advanced the booking, management, and movement of goods, the underlying financial systems have frequently lagged.
