Athletics outfielder Lawrence Butler underwent surgery on the patellar tendon in his right knee on Friday and is expected to be ready for spring training. Butler had a procedure done to repair a partial tendon tear and remove chronic scar tissue. The 25-year-old Butler played in 152 games this season despite the knee issue. He batted .234 with 21 homers and notched career highs of 63 RBIs, 83 runs, 30 doubles and 22 steals. In 319 games over two-plus seasons, Butler is batting .242 with 47 homers, 130 RBIs and 40 steals with the A’s.
