Lavrov tells Rubio 'unacceptable' for US to continue arms sales to Kyiv

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov warned Washington against continuing arms sales to Kyiv during a meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the Philippines on Thursday, the Kremlin said.
"Lavrov briefed his American counterpart on the actual situation along the front line and emphasised that it would be unacceptable to further arm the Kyiv regime," the statement reads.
Speaking to reporters after their meeting, Rubio said the pair had a "good," "frank" conversation, without going into further details.
Asked specifically about the Russian foreign ministry's statement, Rubio said: "We sell arms via PURL, which is an initiative we have through NATO and that's what we're involved in.
