A man accused of stealing a women's purse and threatening to stab her outside of her downtown Kelowna apartment building on Tuesday was released on bail the very next day. During Berry's bail hearing Wednesday, Crown prosecutor Kristian DeJong said the woman had approached her apartment building's front door and refused to let in a man who was waiting outside. The man then demanded the woman's purse, Dejong said, and when she refused, offering to get him cash from the nearby 7-Eleven instead, the man threatened to stab her. Tracking her phone that was inside the purse, officers found the discarded purse near Martin Park, a few blocks away.
