Officials at Sun Peaks Resort and Tourism Sun Peaks say indicators are pointing to strong summer visitation, as the community looks to boost its image as a mountain and downhill biking destination. Two major downhill biking championships are being held in Sun Peaks this month. Christina Antoniak, Sun Peaks Resort's director of communications, said many racers compete in both competitions, giving the community a mid-summer tourism boost. She said the resort has seen about a 300 per cent increase in mountain biking visitation over the last several years.
