This weekend, Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, in Co. Durham, is celebrating 50 years since Rowley Station became the first building to be relocated to the museum. By 1938, only 753 passengers were using Rowley Station, and it closed to passengers a year later, in 1939. It is now situated near the museum’s 1900s Town to represent a North Eastern Railway station from the Edwardian era. // Credit: Beamish MuseumRowley Station is once again operating as a railway station, with steam trains on weekends until Saturday/Sunday 22nd/23rd August.
