Nordex has won its first order in Ecuador with an agreement to supply turbines for a 112MW wind farm in the south of the country. Nordex has not disclosed the name of the customer or the wind farm. The new wind farm will therefore more than double the South American country’s wind power fleet. Nordex claimed the wind farm will support Ecuador during the Amazon dry season and help to reduce the risk of blackouts. The German manufacturer has previously been successful in other South American markets, winning orders in Brazil, Chile and Peru.
