Central Nova MP Sean Fraser was in Pictou County recently for a wastewater funding project. The federal government, through the Direct Delivery stream of the Build Communities Strong Fund, announced over $2.3 million for the Salem wastewater extension project in Green Hill. A release states the funds will support planning, design, and construction of infrastructure including a pumping station, ensuring flood resilience and improved wastewater management by extending the linear wastewater services and pressurized sewer pipes. Fraser said the investment is a big deal for a small community like Salem, noting it will create jobs.
