Iberdrola has reached an agreement to sell its business in Hungary for €171 million, the Spanish energy giant announced today (19 September).
It will sell 100% of the shares in its Hungary business – Iberdrola Renovables Magyarország – to a consortium formed by Romanian-based Premier Energy and to the Hungarian group IG Tech.
The assets to be sold in the deal include 158MW of wind capacity.
Iberdrola has commissioned the wind farms after it entered Hungary in 2008.
Premier Energy previously acquired Iberdrola’s assets in Romania in 2024 in a deal worth around €88 million for 80MW of wind capacity.
