GE Vernova has announced a deal to supply seven of its 6MW-164m turbines to Enertrag's Bonacker wind farm in North Rhine-Westphalia in western Germany. The deal was announced on Wednesday (17 September) during the wind power conference in Husum, Germany. The US turbine manufacturer also revealed a deal to supply the same 6MW-164 turbines for an onshore wind repowering project in Fleetmark, Germany. Germany installed more than 4GW of new wind power capacity in 2024 – more than any other European country – including more than 3.2GW of onshore wind, according to industry body WindEurope. However, a recent government report found that the country is unlikely to meet its target of 115GW of onshore wind capacity by 2030.
