An upcoming public meeting will highlight a planned solar farm to be built north of Thessalon that will power 40,000 homes. Garden River First Nation and Neoen are teaming up for the Dunns Valley Solar project that will convert sunlight into electricity. Dunns Valley Solar was awarded a 20-year contract by Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator. The venture will be the largest solar farm in the province, Neoen says. “Dunns Valley Solar project will play a critical role in meeting Ontario’s projected electricity needs by producing emissions-free power, daily, during peak demand,” Neoen says.
