Danish energy company Andel will invest DKK 3 billion (€401 million) in Ørsted’s ongoing capital increase, maintaining its 5% ownership stake in the offshore wind developer.
Ørsted announced plans for a DKK 60 billion (€8 billion) capital increase in August, against a backdrop of ongoing challenges in the US offshore wind market.
This is largely due to uncertainly inflicted by President Donald Trump, who is eager to halt all offshore wind development in the country.
"If we remain on the sidelines, our ownership stake will be greatly diluted and lose significant value.
We believe that the value and potential of Ørsted is greater than the share price and results currently reflect," Hjulmand added.
