The second-seeded Indianola baseball team has advanced to the Class 4A State Championship game with an 8-1 victory over seventh-seeded West Des Moines Valley. Indianola came out firing early as George Blake led the game off for the Indians at the plate with a lead-off triple into left center field. Ahead 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Brody Merema led the inning off, followed up by George Blake getting intentionally walked. Benge delivered his second RBI single of the game to score George for the seventh run of the game. The second-seeded Indians will take on fifth-seeded Pleasant Valley for the Class 4A State Championship tonight.
