Here's the newspaper sharing a bit of history, background that still might not save the implications of constitutional decisions further up the food chain.
"Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway’s office on Thursday defended its decision to sue Kansas City over a contracting program using a plaintiff who had pleaded guilty to paying bribes for contracts years ago.
Hanaway’s defense came a day after she filed a lawsuit against the city alleging its programs designed to help women- and minority-owned businesses discriminate against men and white people.
Hanaway brought the suit alongside Charles Cacioppo Jr., the owner of Industrial Salvage & Wrecking Co. Inc. in Kansas City, who alleges his company lost city contracts due to its programs."
