An Extreme Heat Watch is in effect for the Twin Cities and a large portion of central and southern Minnesota from Saturday afternoon through Sunday night as the second heat wave of the month grips the area.
The combination of heat and humidity could make it feel between 103 and 108 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
"We will be tallying another long string of 90s to finish out the month," the Weather Service said.
The prolonged heat wave from July 11 to July 20 was one for the record books, even though no daily maximum high temperatures were set in the Twin Cities.
The highest reading during the July heat wave was 100 degrees at Kettle Falls on the Canadian border near Rainy Lake, the office said.
