Mellencamp, 44, has been open about her struggle with cancer, after explaining in 2022 that she had been diagnosed with skin cancer, specifically stage 2 melanoma located on her back. While she's undergone treatment since, she said in February that there was more cancer. "I have multiple tumors in my brain that weren't able to be removed via surgery," Mellencamp later shared on Instagram. I wouldn't buy a car that's only gonna drive 50 percent of the time," said Mellencamp, who's the daughter of singer John Mellencamp. With the announcement that no cancer is detectable in her body, Mellencamp said that she would need to continue immunotherapy for another year.
