It aims to establish nearly 900 private trout farming units over five years.
These include rainbow trout, brown trout, snow trout and mahaseer.
Kashmir’s overall suitability for trout farming has a limit, though.
In 2016, the family’s father learnt of a government programme promoting private trout farming.
