The meeting is set to take place from 19 to 20 November in Puerto Varas, Chile, bringing together leading national and international experts in gene editing. The conference aims to bring together researchers, public sector organisations, students, technology companies and aquaculture producers, providing a key platform to present the latest research on gene editing in aquaculture species. “Gene editing is a technology with transformative potential for the competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability of aquaculture. The programme will cover a wide range of topics, from CRISPR-Cas9 and other gene-editing tools to case studies in aquaculture species, microbiome engineering and precision breeding. Sessions will also explore regulatory and ethical challenges, risk–benefit assessments, bioinformatics applications, and consumer perceptions of new genomic techniques.
