As of June 2026, a total of 204,557 vehicles have been sold in the local market. No doubt the oil crisis had a part to play in this 11.4% year-on-year decrease versus the same period in 2025. On the other hand, sales of xEVs—hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and battery EVs—have surged considerably, with 31,381 units sold so far in 2026—a 132.7% increase over 2025’s H1 sales. Honda (6,600 units) is ahead of Isuzu (6,323 units) this period, MG (4,232 units) comes in at eighth, and Kia (3,364 units) leapfrogs its sister brand Hyundai (3,150 units). Jetour maintains its number-one ranking in the PHEV chart, with 1,891 units sold in the first half of the year.
