I asked Sheriff Brett Schroetlin if he would hire someone with a child abuse finding on their state record. He responded no and stated that the meeting was about issues important to the county. Most schools, daycare centers and law enforcement agencies would likely view the issue as more complicated than whether there was a criminal conviction alone. We do have some great law enforcement folks in Grand County. However, this situation erodes trust and confidence in all law enforcement.
