Addressing participants at the opening of the training, ACWECA Secretary General, Sr. Bridgita Samba, challenged the participants to embrace a deeper understanding of the realities confronting their respective communities. According to the report, Sr. Bridgita encouraged the Catholic Sisters to move beyond responding only to the visible effects of injustice and instead address its underlying causes. The ACWECA Secretary General also reaffirmed the regional association's commitment to supporting women Religious in strengthening the JPIC ministry across Eastern and Central Africa. The report shared with ACI Africa on July 23 says the first three days of the workshop were facilitated by the Secretary General of the Sudan and South Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SSS-CBC), Fr. Martin Ochaya, who grounded the participants in Catholic Social Teaching before introducing advocacy approaches.
