One of the top boys basketball coaches in South Jersey is joining the Cape Atlantic League for the upcoming 2026-2027 season. A New Era for Lower Cape May BasketballFormer Rancocas Valley boys coach Jay Flanagan is heading south, down to Lower Cape May, replacing Scott Holden, who leaves with a 210-208 mark for the Caper Tigers, including 23-6 last year. He retired as a teacher from Rancocas Valley, but has a home in North Wildwood, which is about a 20-minute drive. Joining the CAL’s 500-Win Coaching EliteHe becomes the fourth Cape Atlantic League coach with over 500 wins, joining St. Augustine Prep’s Paul Rodio, Egg Harbor Township’s Joe Kessler and Ocean City's John Bruno. Lower Cape May competes in the Cape Atlantic League National Division and made a run to the Group II semifinals before losing to Camden.
