American Space Hawassa is the seventh American Space in Ethiopia, and the first in the south of the country. Sidama Region Vice President Beyene Berasa, Hawassa City Deputy Mayor Agena Neto, and Hawassa University President Dr. Chirotaw Ayele joined Ambassador Massinga at the ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the space. American Space Hawassa affirms Sidama’s important role as an economic and commercial hub by linking the public with U.S.-made technologies, skills building courses, English language resources, and more. At the American Space, Ambassador Massinga met with participants of U.S. Embassy exchange programs, including the English Access Scholarship Program. American Space Hawass is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and Hawassa University.
