More than 47,000 hectares of land have been covered with various crops during the current Ethiopian 2018/2019 Meher farming season in South Achefer district, North Gojjam Zone in Amhara Region of Ethiopia. This is stated by the district’s Agriculture Office. South Achefer district is bounded by the Agew Awi Zone to the south and west, Semien Achefer to the north, and Mecha to the east, with the Lesser Abay River marking the eastern boundary. The district relies heavily on crop production, especially maize and teff, alongside livestock. According to the latest report, 47,122 hectares of land have already been planted with various types of crops.
