Andoni Iraola says he was in talks with other clubs before taking over as Liverpool manager. The 44-year-old replaced Arne Slot as head coach after the end of last season. Iraola was Liverpool's main candidate when the decision was made to sack Slot at the end of May following a disappointing season. Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League and lost a club record 20 games across all competitions. They also play Wrexham in New York and Leeds United in Chicago.
