Kamloops police say the remains of Stan Cappis, an Alberta man who was swept away in the North Thompson river while rescuing two youths, have recently been found. The youths were in the North Thompson River near the Tournament Capital Ranch. Cappis’ friend and the two youths were able to get to shore safely, but Cappis was swept away. Kamloops RCMP officers, police dog services, air services, Kamloops Fire Rescue and Kamloops Search and Rescue teams launched a search for Cappis — efforts that continued throughout the summer.
