The railway industry has published its strategy for how it intends to use video technology to keep passengers and staff safe and to improve performance. The Visual Safety and Security Systems (VSS) Strategy has been developed by Network Rail, the Rail Delivery Group (RDG), British Transport Police (BTP), train operators and industry partners. It sets out a coordinated approach by the industry to visual safety and security systems. A core part of the strategy is to simplify and standardise technology across the rail network.
