Colorado Parks and Wildlife invites the public to Adventure Day on Saturday, August 1, at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs, a free annual event introducing visitors of all ages to outdoor skills and recreation. A special guest appearance is planned from "Goldie the Goat," a Colorado Springs goat seen in recent online video escorting Colorado Springs firefighters battling the Aspen Acres fire. "Adventure Day is a chance for families to get outside, try something new and experience what makes Cheyenne Mountain State Park such a special place," said Park Manager Jason Hagan. Admission is free with a valid Colorado State Parks pass, available at the park, online, and from regional offices. Colorado Parks and Wildlife is an enterprise agency relying primarily on license sales, state parks fees, and registration fees to support operations including 43 state parks and more than 350 wildlife areas covering approximately 900,000 acres.
