Catherine F. “Katie” Holtel, age 92, of Hamburg, Indiana, passed at Aspen Place in Greensburg, Indiana, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026. She was born on April 28, 1934, in Franklin County, Indiana; she is the daughter of Leo C. and Theresa (nee: Bedel) Holtel. Aunt Katie helped raise many of her beloved nieces and nephews as her own and was looked at as a second mom to many of them. Catherine is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Theresa Greiwe, Rita Grote, Marie Meehan, Clara Schwering, Alma Personett, and Rose Weigel; brothers Leo Holtel, Frank Holtel, and Charles P. Holtel; brothers-in-law Al Greiwe, Ray Grote, Chris Meehan, Tom Schwering, Glen Personett, and Leon Weigel.
