Luzerne County emails explain July concert changes, note ‘turbulence’ of ‘immigration issue’

A Luzerne County official explained decisions to cancel two bands scheduled for the July 25 Rockin’ the River concert in emails sent July 23 to event vendors and sponsors.
Stout noted that concert committee members were in “100% agreement” on cancelling Philadelphia-based Low Cut Connie as the show’s initial headliner.
The Citizens’ Voice reviewed emails from Luzerne County officials about the July 25 concert after filing an open records request on July 29.
In May, Low Cut Connie released a track titled “Livin in the USA,” which is seen as a protest against President Donald Trump’s administration.
