Budgam, July 23: Delegations of the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday visited the residence of police head constable Ashiq Hussain, who was killed in a terror attack in Anantnag district, and offered condolences to his bereaved family at Lalpora in Beerwah. Speaking to reporters, senior AIP leader Nazir Ahmad Khan described the killing of the police head constable as tragic and unfortunate. Referring to the recent flash floods in Beerwah, Khan said several commercial establishments suffered extensive damage, causing significant losses to local traders. Khan said Engineer Rashid had assured the affected shopkeepers that the AIP stands firmly with them during this difficult time and would continue to raise their concerns before the appropriate authorities. He also demanded a fair, transparent and time-bound investigation into the terror attack in Anantnag in which the police head constable from Lalpora lost his life.
