Srinagar, Jul 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday directed security agencies to intensify anti-terror operations across Jammu & Kashmir, a day after a policeman was shot dead by terrorists while on Amarnath Yatra security duty in Anantnag district.
The directions came during a high-level security review meeting attended by senior officers of the Army, J&K Police, Central Armed Police Forces, civil administration and other security agencies.
Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat were among those present.
During the meeting, the Lieutenant Governor asked the agencies to remain alert and strengthen intelligence-based operations to deal with any emerging security threats.
The Lieutenant Governor also called for stronger flood protection measures and immediate removal of debris from streams and water channels along the pilgrimage routes.
