The Combating Illicit Xylazine Act, H.R.
1266, which Rep. Pfluger cosponsored in February 2025 with bill sponsor U.S. Rep. Jimmy Panetta (D-CA), would list the deadly additive xylazine as a Schedule III controlled substance.
“The xylazine crisis is only getting worse, and communities across America are paying the price,” Rep. Pfluger said.
“That’s why I am proud to see the Combating Illicit Xylazine Act advance through the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.”
“The overwhelming passage of this bill in the House Energy and Commerce Committee demonstrates the bipartisan consensus around stopping the illicit spread of this dangerous drug,” said Rep. Panetta.
