-- A 34-year-old South Bend man will spend years in prison after pleading guilty to Attempt to Possess with Intent to Distribute 500 Grams or More of a Mixture and Substance Containing Methamphetamine, according to the United States Attorney’s Office Northern District of Indiana. Donald Cauffman was sentenced to seven and a half years in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Investigators in the case learned Cauffman ordered about $4,700 worth of methamphetamine pills on the dark web with the intent to distribute them. Authorities say the pills were delivered in two packages, weighing a combined total of 4.5 kilograms. The United States Postal Inspection Service, South Bend Police Department, and Mishawaka Police Department participated in the investigation.
