New evidence emerged this July 23 linking Brazilian far-right presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro to Daniel Vorcaro, the former owner of Master Bank and central figure in the worst banking scandal in the country’s recent history.
The new findings compound previous reports that Flavio Bolsonaro received nearly 11 million dollars to finance “Dark Horse”, a biographical film about his father, former President Jair Bolsonaro, who has been under house arrest since March 2026.
According to The Intercept Brazil, at least 10.6 million dollars were paid in six transactions between February and March 2025.
Master Bank was subsequently liquidated, and the Federal Police are investigating Vorcaro through Operation Zero Compliance for financial crimes, corruption, money laundering, threats, and system intrusion.
However, filmmaker Oliver Stone, the documentary’s producers, and Sidônio Palmeira, head of the Social Communication Secretariat, categorically denied receiving any funds or sponsorships from Master Bank.
