Four unaffiliated candidates have qualified for the general election ballot for local county offices, according to a recent news release.
Routt County Clerk and Recorder Jenny Thomas has filed for re-election, along with Routt County Treasurer Lane Iacovetto, Assessor Gary Peterson and Coroner Mitch Locke.
All four candidates are currently incumbents in their positions and are each uncontested.
Under state law, unaffiliated candidates are required to collect signatures “equal to the lesser of 1,000 electors,” or 2% of the votes for all candidates for the office in the most recent general election, states the release.
Routt County’s 2026 general election will take place Tuesday, November 3.
