A significant milestone for care workers across Asia and the Pacific was reached with the founding conference of UNI Apro Care, held on 28–29 August 2025 in Kathmandu, Nepal. The historic gathering, with strong support from UNI Global Union and presided by UNI Asia & Pacific President Akihiko Matsuura, brought together 118 participants. Women care workers have raised concerns about pay, safety, harassment, and exploitation.
